Introduction to LCA     30th April 2009, 9:30am to 4.30pm

The course will have both theoretical and practical elements and is suitable for beginners to LCA and recent adopters.  Practical session will  be paper based or in Excel so no software experience is necessary.

LCA with SimaPro     1st May 2009, 9:30am to 4.30pm

The course is designed for current or prospective users of SimaPro wishing understand how to use SimaPro and how to use it more effectively.

The course will cover the range of functionality of SimaPro including

bulletData structures and selecting data in SimaPro
bulletModelling approaches and design of life cycle models
bulletUsing parameters and scenario analysis, unit processes, system processes.
bullet Selecting the most appropriate inventory data and impact methods
bulletCopy tree and move to library
bulletImport and export of data and results
bulletInterrogating and modifying impact models
bulletMonte Carlo analysis
bulletUsing groups in SimaPro

For participants without SimaPro, software will be provided for the day of the course.

Cost NZ $550  ($275 for current SimaPro service contract holders).

SimaPro Techniques LCA Software Training

The SimaPro Techniques LCA Software Training is for participants wishing to move beyond simple LCAs and how to simplify modelling and data management in SimaPro.

The course is designed for current, or prospective users of SimaPro wishing to improve their skills in utilising the software and understanding of it capabilities and uses.

The course will cover the range of functionality of SimaPro including

bulletSimaPro analysis features
bulletSelecting the most appropriate inventory data and impact methods
bulletLCA Wizards
bulletCopy tree and move to library
bulletImport and export
bulletAppending data
bulletInterrogating and modifying impact models
bulletMonte Carlo analysis
bulletAggregation and disaggregation of inventories
bulletUse of parameters and scenario analysis
bulletUsing groups in SimaPro
bulletIncorporation of Life Cycle Costing

The course cost is $500 plus GST or $250 plus GST for people with a current SimaPro service contract.  Second persons from the same organisation come at half price.

LCA Training run by the Centre for Design at RMIT University
The Centre for Design at RMIT runs periodic two day course in life cycle assessment which includes practical projects using SimaPro.

A workday will be held on May 4th to allow people to come along share experiences and get help with LCA projects, SimaPro models or issues.
