Australian LCA Database (Centre for Design)

The Australian LCA Database was initially developed as part of a joint project between the Centre for Design at RMIT and the Co-operative Research Centre for Waste Management and Pollution Control.  Over the five years since its initial development data has been updated and new data added work undertaken at the Centre for Design and by other SimaPro users around Australia.

The data includes fuels, electricity, transport, building and packaging materials, waste management and some data on agricultural production.

The database is made available to all SimaPro users in Australia and New Zealand.

Tools and downloads

Download Australian LCI Database Version 2008.04 - Updated 12 August 2008

Before importing ensure mass units are as follow in the target database.

bullettonne  (not ton)
bulletkt  (not kton)
bulletMt  (not Mtn)

If they are in the older form you can edit each unit and change it to the format suggested.  This will avoid ending up with both forms of the units in you database.

SimaPro Substance Append file for Australian LCA Database Users

If you have used the Australian LCA database and have data in a SimaPro Database which you wish to update to the new substance definitions used in SimaPro, use the following append file which includes the common substance definitions used in the initial development of the Australian database.

Note that appending substance is not reversible, so make a back of your database prior to appending
