Wizards
The possibility to create wizards is a unique feature in SimaPro. They enable those who are unfamiliar with SimaPro or Life Cycle Assessment to model and analyze products through a predefined question and answer tree.
The scripts function can save your company valuable time. It can also drastically reduce the chances of introducing errors by limiting the choices available and directing the user at each step of the way.
Data and scripts can be distributed with any SimaPro version. A low cost SimaPro version such as the light version has less features than the full versions, but is perfect for large scale distribution of scripts and databases.
Examples
A Wizard could be written to allow the design department in your organization to model design and analyze a complete life cycle for a certain product range. The wizard would prompt the user at each step for an answer, limiting the choices of inputs to a few variables, such as transport or packaging options.
Requirements for programming scripts
The only requirement is that one employee in your company understands the principles of Life Cycle Assessment, the working of SimaPro and does know how to write scripts. If you look up to this task, PRé Consultants can assist in various ways.
